Five and six speed automatic transmissions are featured as standard, making the Grand Vitara's standard four-speed automatic transmission feel a little old, Cambece noticed. On a crowded road where traffic is moving at a common pace, downshifts are how they should be, but even if you smoothly roll on the accelerating pedal , the transmission gets a little bit confused.
The Suzuki Grand Vitara isn't the right choice for long road trips, as the ride isn't incredibly comfortable and the firm seats can start to take their toll after five or four hours in the saddle. At small trips , however, the Grand Vitara is amazingly capable and even comfortable, as Cambece told us after the road test. Most of the ones who buy it are likely to use the Grand Vitara for commuting and shuttling kids.
